Different league: Rio Ferdinand with Sam Tomkins in the Wigan dressing room
As Roy Hodgson's England team prepare to warm-up for Euro 2012 against Belgium at Wembley, axed defender Rio Ferdinand was found celebrating in the Wigan dressing room... at Headingley!
Warriors fan and surprise England reject Ferdinand joined in the celebrations after attending his first away match and watching Wigan rout Super League champions Leeds 50-8.
The Manchester United star is a big fan of Sam Tomkins and the full-back was at his sensational best, causing havoc in the Rhinos defence with his magical weaving runs that directly set up four of his side's nine tries.
Tweeting after the game, Ferdinand told his legion of over two million followers on the social networking site: 'well...Wigan Warriors just dismantled Leeds Rhinos! Went into the changing room after, what an atmosphere! I should have filmed it! Inspired'.
Wigan coach Shaun Wane said: 'He loved it. He's been singing the song with us. All the lads like to have him in there.
'A few weeks ago when we played Warrington, Ryan Giggs and Michael Carrick came with Rio to watch and we lost so when he turned up today, I thought "I hope he hasn't brought us any bad luck".
'I've told him now he's coming to Catalan next week.'
Wigan made light of the absence of six first-choice forwards through injury and suspension, cruising into a 26-4 half-time lead before giving 18-year-old Welshman Rhodri Lloyd a perfect introduction to Super League.

Man in the stands: Ferdinand was at the match as a guest of Kris Radlinski
'That was an outstanding performance with the kids,' added Wane.
'Rhodri Lloyd has not played much rugby league but he looked fantastic.
'Sam has just said to me it's one of the most satisfying wins since he joined the club and he's had some good wins.
'It was a test for us but we showed some toughness and we executed our game plan well.
'Every now and then as a team you get together with a certain group of players and you go through a special time and we're going through that at the minute.'
A second consecutive home defeat piled on the agony for Leeds, who could find themselves out of the top eight if results go against them on Sunday.

Winning feeling: Sean O'Loughlin (right) is congratulated by Sam Tomkins after scoring a try in Wigan's emphatic win (below)
'We need to get back to the type of form that saw us beat Warrington and Catalan earlier this season and the type of performances we put in against Manly,' said Leeds coach Brian McDermott.
'This same team produced those performances and they will again.'
Wigan's 13th win of the season put them three points clear of Warrington, who go to Hull KR on Sunday, and four in front of Catalan Dragons, who lost ground after going down 34-30 at Salford on Friday night.
The Dragons led 20-0 in the first half and at one stage were playing against 11 men as the Reds had Daniel Holdsworth and Vinnie Anderson both in the sin-bin at the same time for dissent.
Catalan coach Trent Robinson described his team's performance as 'disgusting', saying: 'It can't be acceptable for any team to play like that and especially not at the Dragons.
'It was embarrassing and there was a lack of effort. You can't play like that and it's unacceptable to play that way in Super League.
'I think that has been coming for a little while. We have been playing average footy for a while but it's a bit of a shock.'

International Friendly: England 1 Belgium 0

Danny Welbeck scored the only goal of the game to send England off to the Euros 2012 with a victory against Belgium.
But in truth, this was a game dominated almost from start to finish from the visitors.
England have downplayed their chances of success in Poland And Ukraine and frankly it’s well deserved.
The Manchester United striker took his goal well, Cooly chipping Simon Mignolet on 37 minutes from just inside the penalty area.
This was a game where defence was on top for England with sporadic counter-attacks.
Belgium, who failed to qualify for the Euros, we’re superior in attack but suspect in defence.
As for the game, good early pressure by the visitors, with Chelsea’s soon-to-be signing Eden Hazard pulling the strings set the pattern for the game.
England, by contrast, were struggling to get hold of the ball.
However, England should have taken the lead on eight minutes, when following a chipped free-kick by John Terry, James Milner found himself free on the right. He cut a low ball back from the byline into the path of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but the young Arsenal winger scuffed his shot from the edge of the area, somewhat embarrassingly.
Oxlade-Chamberlain redeemed himself on 14 minutes. In similar fashion, but this time on the left, he received a cutback from Danny Welbeck. The wide man’s shot was hit well and true, but veered wide of Simon Mignolet’s goal at the last minute.
Belgium did put the ball in the back of the net three minutes later, when Dries Mertens, slotted home with a side footer from two yards, but he had already pushed Gary Cahill into Joe Hart in the process- an infringement which resulted in a yellow card.
But more worryingly for England, Cahill failed to recover sufficiently from what appeared to be a blow on the head, when he hit Hart and was instantly replaced by Joleon Lescott.
A powerful 20-yard shot by Axel Witsel zipped over Hart’s crossbar as Belgium exerted greater pressure on the home side’s defence.
Scott Parker entered the book of Denmark referee Petr Rasmussen on 30 minutes after clattering Mertens.
Against the run of play, with nine minutes of the half remaining, England took the lead, Steven Gerard won the ball in midfield, and slide it to Ashley Young.
The Manchester United forward then bisected the Belgium defence with a fine pass into the gleeful path of teammate Welbeck. the striker, cooly raced into the penalty area, slightly on the left, and expertly chipped the ball over the advancing goalkeeper Mignolet and into the empty net, It was the 21-year-old’s first goal at full international level.
Hazard then tried a 30-yarder, but the effort, while on target, did not trouble Hart.
While no changes were made at half-time by either side, England boss Roy Hodgson decided to bring on Wayne Rooney for Welbeck eight minutes after the restart.
Belgium started the second half as the finished the first, pushing England back towards their own goal.
Marouane Fellaini and Hazard were the chief architects - Hart was forced into a save from a left- footer from Fellaini on 61 minutes.
There then followed a flurry of substitutions.
Hodgson replaced Oxlade-Chamberlain and Young for Theo Walcott and Jermain Defoe on 66 minutes.
Three minutes later and it was John Terry’s turn to walk off the turf, replaced by Phil Jagielka.
Chelsea’s Romelu Lakaku entered the fray for Belgium with 18 minutes of the game left, replacing Mertens.
It was Lukaku who almost equalised within two minutes, following excellent set-up play by Hazard. He was quick to get a shot away but his club mate Cole blocked as Belgium pressed even closer to levelling the scores.
Full-back Guillaume Givet then got in on the act on 78 minutes when his rasper of a 25-yard right-footer beat Hart but crashed off the stopper’s right post.
Defoe returned the compliment of hitting the post on 81 minutes when England finally decided to venture forward from a counterattack.
The game petered out with Belgium still trying to get the equaliser and England happy to sit back and run the clock down.
That bit, they did successfully.

Finn shines in Middlesex triumph - ECB
Steven Finn did his hopes of receiving an England Test recall no harm with three wickets as Middlesex defeated Sussex at Lord's to claim their third LV= County Championship win of the summer.
Finn followed up his three first-innings scalps with 3-66 as Sussex were bowled out for 225 in their second innings. That left Middlesex with a target of 18 and they completed a 10-wicket victory 40 minutes after tea on the final day.
Middlesex looked like wrapping up proceedings early when they reduced Sussex to 101 for five prior to lunch.
They were delayed by Ben Brown's second half-century of the match, but when he and Naveed Arif departed in successive overs Sussex were heading for their second successive championship defeat.
Finn, who had already picked up Ed Joyce on the third evening, was taken for two fours by Chris Nash in his first over of the day but hit back in the next when he cleaned up the Sussex opener with a leg-stump yorker.
Finn struck again when Murray Goodwin was smartly taken low down at second slip by Ollie Rayner. It was Goodwin's ninth single-figure score in 11 innings this season.

England seamer Steven Finn finished with three second-innings wickets as Middlesex secured a 10-wicket victory over Sussex at Lord's
There was no respite for Sussex when Gareth Berg replaced Finn at the Pavilion End. Joe Gatting was leg before in the seamer’s first over and then Finn got in the act in the field, holding a two-handed catch when Luke Wright chased a wide ball from Berg and slashed to gully.
Skipper Michael Yardy also got out to a poor shot, pulling a short ball from Toby Roland-Jones straight to deep square-leg.
Finn returned after lunch and should have been celebrating again when Arif was badly dropped in the gully by Eoin Morgan on nought. He eventually got off the mark with a boundary off the 34th ball he faced and gradually Sussex's seventh-wicket pair mounted a recovery of sorts.
Brown twice pulled Roland-Jones for two of the eight fours he collected in a two-hour 53 as he and Arif added 63 in 25 overs, seven of which were bowled by Finn at a cost of just five runs.
Just when Middlesex were getting frustrated Berg went round the wicket to have Arif well caught low down at slip by Dawid Malan and in the next over Brown, having reached his fifty off the previous ball, mis-judged a reverse sweep at off-spinner Rayner and gave a simple catch to slip.
Steve Magoffin enjoyed himself either side of tea with 37, including six fours and a six off Malan, but the occasional leg-spinner picked up the last two wickets with Magoffin and Monty Panesar holing out.
