Robins' fans full of excitement for their Wembley big day out - This is Gloucestershire

AWAY days like this don't come along very often – and when they do you've got to make the most of them.

That was the call from buoyant Robins' fans who met at Cheltenham racecourse ahead of their big Wembley day out.

A fleet of 57 coaches were on hand to transport about 3,000 supporters to London for the League Two play-off final.

The scene was transformed into a sea of ruby red and white, with merchandisers hawking scarves, shirts and hats.

Among them was grandfather Trevor Johnson, 66, from Warden Hill, went to the game with his son Mark and grandson Arthur.

"It's great to have three generations of the family going to the match," he said.

"My dad Ronald would have loved to come too but he is 90 so it was a bit of a an ask."

Dave Harkin, 62, from Prestbury, has supported the Robins over the past 50 years.

He said: "Days like today are what supporting a club like Cheltenham is all about."

And for young Alfie Beaver, eight, from Wyman's Brook, the day was a chance to see Wembley stadium for the first time.

"It's our first time as season ticket holders so we picked a good time to jump on board," said his dad Mark Beaver.
