The Samsung Galaxy S3 is on sale today at all the major networks and phone shops. Today we can add Tesco to that list -- and you can get it half price with your Clubcard.
Sign up to any phone network's phone contract through Tesco and you can use Clubcard points to pay the upfront cost of the S3. For the next two weeks, during the supermarket's Clubcard Voucher Exchange, those points are worth double. So because the cheapest deal involves shelling out £50 to O2 up-front, you only need £25 worth of points.
Let me explain. If you have a Clubcard you earn one point for every £1 you spend in Tesco or online. Normally they're worth 1p. But during the month-long Voucher Exchange, your points can be swapped again for a token that's double the value. So if you spend £500 you get 500 points, which gets you £5 of vouchers -- which you can then swap for a £10 token.
Like in the telly advert where the kid is washing the car and doing the hoovering and his mum's like, "Why's he washing the car and doing the hoovering? He's normally a right little bleeder," and it turns out the mercenary little git wants to be paid in Clubcard vouchers so he can double the value and buy a Nerf gun. Kids: always workin' an angle.
So in order to pay for an S3 with Clubcard tokens, you need £25 of vouchers, which means you need 2,500 points, which means you must have spent £2,500 in Tesco. That's six months of £100 weekly family shops, or three years of buying a sandwich and a packet of crisps every lunchtime at the Tesco Metro on the high street.
On a contract with a higher up-front cost, you could still double up your Clubcard points, but you'd need to have swiped that little blue card an awful lot.

Tesco launches virtual window shopping tool for F&F clothing range - Retail Bulletin
You are here: Home | News | Tesco launches virtual window shopping tool for F&F clothing range
Supermarket giant Tesco has launched virtual shopping technology for its F&F clothing range in the windows of three of its central London stores.
Giant posters of F&F clothing displayed in the windows of the Covent Garden, Dean Street and Tooley Street flagship Metro stores use Aurasma technology to allow customers to order the clothing via their smart phones.
Customers can download the Aurasma app and point their smart phones at the posters so the pictures are transformed into moving images. Shoppers can then add the items they like to their virtual shopping basket and collect them the next day from one of the central London stores or have them delivered to an address of their choice.
Emily Shamma, Tesco Clothing online director said: "This is really exciting new technology that we think our customers will enjoy using. It's a great opportunity to help us to reach new customers who may not be familiar with our full F&F collection. It’s really convenient for the busy office workers who use Tesco Metro stores in Covent Garden and London Bridge during their lunch break or on their way home after work."
To coincide with the window shopping experience, F&F will also open its first ever pop-up shop in Covent Garden piazza. The F&F store will open to customers for four days over the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, from 30 May – 2 June.
To tie in with the Jubilee celebrations, the pop-up shop will offer customers a 1950s-inspired boutique where customers will be able try on a selection of items from the extended online range. Garments can then be purchased online by scanning a QR ticket or through an iPad station in the shop, and either delivered to an address of the customer’s choosing or collected the next day from the nearby Covent Garden Tesco Metro.
Shamma added: "We are delighted to open our pop-up shop in vibrant Covent Garden for a few days over Diamond Jubilee weekend. Shoppers will be able to see firsthand the excellent extended range we offer at Tesco.com/clothing and take time to enjoy this new shopping experience."
Customers at the F&F pop-up store will also be able to try on garments using the F&F virtual fitting room service.

Tesco introduces subsription service for online deliveries - Retail Bulletin
You are here: Home | News | Tesco introduces subsription service for online deliveries
Tesco is introducing a new subscription service for customers ordering groceries online.
The Delivery Saver service, which launches nationwide today, offers the supermarket’s online customers the option to pay once and have groceries delivered at no extra cost for either a three-month or a six-month period.
Tesco claims that shoppers signing up for six months could save up to £100 on delivery charges, based on one £6 delivery per week and one extra delivery for a special occasion.
Ken Towle, internet retailing director at Tesco, explained: "We listened to what our customers told us they wanted, and Delivery Saver is the result. It’s simple to use and will save money at a difficult time for many families. Customers can choose from all available delivery slots, so shopping arrives at the most convenient time. Best of all, if you get regular home deliveries it will quickly pay for itself – and the more you use the service, the more you save."
Tesco said the nationwide roll-out of Delivery Saver follows a successful trial with its customers in the South West, covering 37 stores.

Tesco Express on track for Burghfield Common - Reading Evening Post
Tesco Express on track for Burghfield Common
May 30, 2012
An old pub could soon be turned into a new Tesco store in Burghfield Common following a planning appeal.
Delicia Consolidated Limited was turned down in its application by West Berkshire Council last June when it applied to convert the Rising Sun in Reading Road into a shop/cafe/restaurant/pub or bar.
Local people and shopkeepers objected to the change of use and expressed concern when it became clear that a Tesco Express was one of the possible uses for the site.
But now planning permission has been granted on appeal.
Spokesman for Tesco Simon Petar said: “We have not signed a lease for the property. Should this change we will write to local residents about proposals for a Tesco Express.
“Our Express convenience stores are extremely popular with customers and play an important role in the local community.”
In January Tesco admitted it was in discussions over the lease, but would not sign it until certain conditions were met – including gaining planning permission.
